Practice Areas
Personal Injury
Personal injury law involves injury which is caused accidentally by another's failure to use reasonable care. The definition of reasonable care is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Types of personal injury lawsuits brought include injury and wrongful death cases arising from automobile, bike and pedestrian collisions, trucking accidents, boat and airplane accidents, construction accidents and OSHA violations, premises liability, product liability, nursing home liability, toxic and mass torts, medical malpractice, and other forms of negligence.
Civil Mediation
Mediation is a structured, interactive process where an impartial third party assists disputing parties in resolving conflict through the use of specialized communication and negotiation techniques. All participants in mediation are encouraged to actively participate in the process. Mediation is a "party-centered" process in that it is focused primarily upon the needs, rights, and interests of the parties. The mediator uses a wide variety of techniques to guide the process in a constructive direction and to help the parties find their optimal solution. A mediator is facilitative in that she/he manages the interaction between parties and facilitates open communication. Mediation is also evaluative in that the mediator analyzes issues and relevant norms ("reality-testing"), while refraining from providing prescriptive advice to the parties (e.g., "You should do... .").
Domestic Mediation

Mediation has become very common in trying to resolve domestic relations disputes (divorce, child custody, visitation) and is often ordered by the judge in such cases. Mediation also has become more frequent in contract and civil damage cases.
Criminal Law
Criminal law or penal law involves prosecution by the state of a person for an act that has been classified as a crime. It is the body of statutory and common law that deals with crime and the legal punishment of criminal offenses. The vast majority of the crimes committed in the United States are prosecuted and punished at the state level.
Criminal law deals with: arson, assault, battery, bribery, burglary, child abuse, child pornography, computer crimes, controlled substances, credit card fraud, criminal defense, drugs and narcotics, embezzlement, expungements, felonies, fraud, homicide, identity theft, internet and cyberspace crime, manslaughter, money laundering, murder, perjury, prostitution, rape, robbery, sex crimes, shoplifting, theft, weapons, white collar crime and Wire Fraud among others.

Wills
A Will is the simplest form of estate planning documents. It is the document used to express the final wishes of someone who died. Because this is a controlling document, there are strict requirements for the execution of a will. Examples of these are that a will must be signed in front of the witnesses. A will signed out of the presence of the witnesses is invalid, even if the testator (signer of the will) later acknowledges to the witnesses that he/she signed the will. A simple mark on the will by an accidental pen stroke can invalidate the will, as such marks have been interpreted by Courts as the testator revoking the will. Many other technical issues can cause problems with a will, which is why it is important to have a professional develop a plan and create the will.
